It is listed as a side effect. 1%-10% common. If this causes dizziness, lightheadedness or any other symptoms stop taking the drug and see your dr.
I agree totally with NWG!
I am taking same dose and it's the only drug that helps me sleep.
However, I was on Seroquel before for sleep. It didn't work and I was so sleep deprived I couldn't think straight.
All I know is that I was extremely hungry all night. I'd get up to go to the refrigerator and I felt faint. I tried to go 5 steps to the chair but would faint. The tile hitting my face snapped me out of it.
A month later, at a routine doc appt, my ekg showed I was in atrial fib and had to go to the ER.
Everything is fine now but think of palpitations as being a warning sign that all is not right.
Best wishes
:-)
Will the palpitations pass with the habituation to the medication?
Not necessarily. Sounds like this medication is causing this side effect. Switching medications to Cymbalta or Zoloft might be beneficial. Depends on what you are taking Trazodone for.
Im assuming the palpitations stop when the Trazodone wears off?
I tried the Seroquel and Remeron for sleep.
The palpitations only went away after the drug was out of my system. I now list them as an allergy.
