That’s a great question. My PCP prescribed me a 100mg dose! I was also worried about potential side effects. I split each pill into 1/4’s, so I cut them in half then in half again. I still get pretty stuffed up and sometimes my face flushes, but that’s it. Both are totally manageable. As my doctor told me, this is one of the safest medications in the world, they regularly prescribe it to elderly men who have had heart attacks. I’ve never had any vision, hearing, or fast heart beat issues. I’ve also found it temporarily reduces my blood pressure for about a day after I take a dose. We are all different, but this has been a good medication for me. I hope this helps. Remember you can always start with a smaller dose and take more, but you can’t take less after a large dose. Good luck to you!
