Hi I'm on 5mg of melatonin every night as perscribed and wanting to drink some chamomile tea with licorice root. Would it be safe to do this every night? Also are there any specific herbs other than St. John's wort and kava kava and wired stuff like that that I need to be careful of? I thought if they were standard like chamomile, peppermint, ginseng, lemon, raspberry, cranberry, etc they were relatively safe to use everyday.
Help for sleep? Chamomile and melatonin?

Waterstar0610; The tea your talking about is okay to take prior to the Melatonin But no all of these others you have to be very careful with these medications or mumbo jumbo things you get over the counter you must keep a list and let any doctor or pharmacist know what you are taking when they prescribe anything for you.Lots of people think this way but there are a lot of interactions with many so-called health medications that can do serious damage to kidneys liver etc so you must always check and the big one i see is st.johns wart interacts with a lot of things so always tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking anything like this or vitamins.
Just noticed one thing your taking st.Johns Wart is that in the morning don't take it close to when your trying to sleep that well many time be the reason your not sleeping
No I'm not taking St. John's wort, you clearly didn't read my question thoroughly before answering I said St. John's and kava kava are weird and I know I need to be careful of them. I asked about the tea and I asked if there were any other herbs that I needed to use extreme caution with. I know I do with St. John's and kava kava but they are weird and not standard. I asked about more common more standard herbs like chamomile, raspberry leaf, and cranberry and others with specific respect to teas that you buy in the store. You clearly only read have my question and assumed the rest of what I was asking.
Waterstar Don't get so upset I answered the main question and you got your answer then you add all these other things and wonder why I got confused I lean to the safe side. And IM doing Chemotherapy and my eyes are playing games with me sorry your post went from what you are taking or asking a bunch of other stuff too.And i mistook it Just wanted to make sure my fault and your welcome for the one I did get right which was the main question.
