lindagail365 i will respond but i have nothing positive to say about lisinopril- it landed me in intensive care(im allergic to it) i would though read the pamphlet from the pharmacy or other source and read about the drug interactions with it-i was taking it with oxycodone-and had a allergic reaction-i had a series of thoracic spine epidorals- and at home was to take oxycodone--the the first day i took a small bite of the little pill 5mg and my lip began growing back in april 2010, but benedryll stopped the reaction from going further-- i was told to dc oxy and continue lisinopril--may 29th i was in the intensive care it was a sudden attack- my lip would not stop growing from 6pm to 2am, i am not trying to scare you just want you to read the part of adverse reactions--- and see if whats in your medication(lexapro) if it is safe with lisinopril- how long should you wait and such to avoid such a reaction to your body--- you have the oportunity todig deeper and be sure its breakdown in your body-wont cause any problems, so check carefully my dear-vtech10
thanks for answer ... so sorry about your expeirence what do you mean when you say your lip was growing?
the reaction i had is called lip-angioedema 2 kinds 1st--sudden attack for me was; lips, throat, swallowing, breathing very severe- and the lips continuously get larger along with everything attached--at 2am my face was swollen very difficult to breathe- then they had to be careful with what to give me to decrease the size of everything that was affected, the 2nd kind is hereditary which my family does not have... a sudden attack thats what happened..lindagirl365... vtech10

Linda gail, you already have some great information there with rajive and dave, if I had any further questions I wouls just call the pharmacy, or call the doctor~most depression meds are taken at bedtime, but I would wait till you get an answer from the dr., that I am not! lol. Fall Queen
it doesnt say when to take them ... so i just take them both around 7 a m
Is the same Dr prescribing them? You could also check with your pharmacist. Follow thier directions.
Linda, naming the meds would certainly be helpful, thanks.
oh ... sorry ... my 15 mg lisonpril... an my 20mg lexapro
lexapro an lisonpril
Linda, you need to monitor it, thsi is what was found on the Interactions Checker:
Applies to: lisinopril, Lexapro (escitalopram)
MONITOR: Many psychotherapeutic and CNS-active agents (e.g., anxiolytics, sedatives, hypnotics, antidepressants, antipsychotics, opioids, alcohol, muscle relaxants) exhibit hypotensive effects, especially during initiation of therapy and dose escalation. Coadministration with antihypertensive agents, in particular vasodilators and alpha-blockers, may result in additive effects on blood pressure and orthostasis.
MANAGEMENT: Caution is advised during coadministration of these agents. Close monitoring for development of hypotension is recommended. Patients should be advised to avoid rising abruptly from a sitting or recumbent position and to notify their physician if they experience dizziness, lightheadedness, syncope, orthostasis, or tachycardia.
do you think that is why my bp keeps being so high?that these two medicines really dont go together
Linda, could be possible, talking to a doc should be able to clear all your doubts, take care & above all be well!
