I thought it may be from the cold, but it still occurs when I am inside. The pain is sharp and doesn't last long. When it goes away I have no more symptoms.
I keep getting sharp pains in my ear, could this be the start of an ear infection?

Yes I had this pain around my ear and around my jaw line and neck, I'm on way to recovery hopefully as I've been taking antibiotics for 5 days now
You may also want to get checked for vertigo. Sharp ear pain, with ringing of the ear and lightheadedness
It could be the jaw joint being out of wack. It's sharp-quite painful- and you still need to see a doctor. Are you having fevers-that goes with an ear infection. A drop of warm olive oil can help ease an ear infection's pain. But it's like an aspirin reducing a symptom-not curing the disease. Good luck
Yes, this is the most common symptom of an ear infection. Go see a doctor ASAP, as an ear infection can be very painful. And remember to never use q-tips, they can make it worse. As a home remedy for ear pain, you can use a blow dryer set to low heat, and place it 6 inches from your ear for about 2 minutes whenever you feel the sharp pains. This method greatly reduces pain and will work until you see a doc. Hope you feel better!
