I just started Zoloft. I am 64 and healthy but I have high blood pressure & I'm on medication for it. I had panic attacks 7 years ago and was put on Klonopin. Two years later I went off of it and was fine all these years. Recently I started having attacks. My doctor put me on Zoloft 25mg. I was just reading that you can’t eat certain foods - avocados, bananas, lunch-meat, bacon, cheese, chocolate etc. It can cause a blood pressure spike. My doctor. never mentioned this at all and I eat at least 2 avocados a week. Does anyone else know this or have advice?

Zoloft (sertraline) is an SSRI class antidepressant/anxiolytic and the only food interaction is with alcohol:

It's the MAOI class that has all the food restrictions for foods containing tyramine: For example, Parnate is an MAOI medication:

You can enjoy your avocados!
