Sertraline - Does this make you gain weight and also what's the experience coming off of it?

Not necessarily... like all psychotropic drugs weight changes are possible but with sertraline it can go either way:
"Common (1% to 10% of users): Anorexia, increased/decreased appetite, weight increased/decreased"
I had no problem with any weight change at all. I had to stop the medication because of an unrelated medical problem and my doctor titered my dose down over a couple of weeks with no discontinuation problems at all.
