I'm on clonazepam 1mg, and have recently been started on Abilify 10mg for my BP2. My pysch didn't seem too concerned, but I've read multiple things on Google and now I'm worried. Should I do one in the morning and one at night? Or find an alternative for my anti-anxiety? Please help.
Can I safely take clonazepam with my Abilify?

I agree with Wildcat.
Just wanted to add the following:
"If you do take Abilify with a benzodiazepine, watch for extreme sleepiness. Also watch for symptoms of blood pressure changes, such as lightheadedness or feeling faint when standing after sitting or lying down. If you have these side effects, your doctor may adjust your Abilify dosage to help lower your risk."

On a personal note, I did take Abilify for a while along with other meds, one of them was Klonopin (clonazepam) and I had no problems at all, but remember everyone reacts differently to medications, benefits, potential risks, possible interactions and side effects.
Hi, cmariee!
I wouldn't be overly concerned about it. At worst, you might be off for a couple of days as your system adjusts to the new medication.
"Interactions between your drugs
Moderate
clonazePAM ARIPiprazole
Applies to: clonazepam, aripiprazole
Using clonazePAM together with ARIPiprazole may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, and difficulty concentrating. Some people, especially the elderly, may also experience impairment in thinking, judgment, and motor coordination. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Also avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns."
Maybe you could plan on starting the Abilify (aripiprazole) when you have a few days, like maybe on the weekend, to see how it affects you. Keep in mind that interactions and/or side effects usually only affect a small minority of users.
Your doctor seems to be aware of this possible interaction but feels that the benefit to you is going to outweigh the risk.
