I’m taking Xanax 2mg per day for anxiety. I have MDD, and have tried 20 different antidepressants. I want to ask my doctor to put me on tramadol to raise my dopamine, and I wonder how much I can take without a dangerous combination. Can I take 50 mg of Tramadol and 2 mg of Xanax without a major problem? I am pretty sure I have taken them together before, when I had an accident at work and hurt my back.
Safe dosage amounts for tramadol and Xanax?

I would recommend taking Clonazepam instead of Xanax. Both are benzodiazepines but Clonazepam is far more stable. You can take up to 4 mg a day. Xanax is fast acting, to fast. Tramadol is for pain not sure about the dopamine angle? At first expect drowsiness but that shouldn’t last long. So until you know how it affects you in a 24 hour period stay away from driving, don’t drink, and start slow. Try to use as little as possible and stop the Xanax. Once your pan is under control don’t take more even if the doctor offers it.
I’m now dependent on Xanax. 2 mg a day. My primary doctor just put me on tramadol 50 mg, one tablet every eight 8 hours for severe arthritis pain. Can these two medications be taken together? I also take 100 mg of Zoloft.
Hi, sweetnloe!
The dosages don't matter so much as your response to the drugs and how they affect you.

Be aware too that both medications are habituating/addictive. Some insurances won't pay for more than one Class 4 medication.
Have you tried or considered Wellbutrin (bupropion)? Bupropion is unique among antidepressants as an inhibitor of dopamine reuptake, leading to increased dopamine levels in the synapse.
