First of all, what meds did not work, dose you were on and length of time taking them.
One last thing, since when have you had anxiety and depression, and what other meds have you tried?
I have had anxiety as far back as I can remember in my life, even as a small child. It wasn't until I was in my 40s, that life (2 teenagers--along with stressful full time job, house, husband) dealt enough stress to make me think I was losing my mind. I also suffered from bouts of depression from the age of 21.
Finally, I made a mental health appt. For ten years doctors gave me a combined medicine that was supposed to take care of depression and anxiety. It did fine for depression, but did not really take care of my anxiety, which is significant. FINALLY, my doctor prescribed Klonopin along with the Paxil I had been taking and that works so much better. I was worried about addiction but am very careful to take my prescribed dose and have not had to get the prescription dosage increased in the fifteen years I have been taking it. Talk to your doctor and best of luck.
