My patient is experiencing hallucinations, paranoia, extreme drowsiness and confusion. He has stopped taking it. He tried to cut a pie in the store, was sleep walking into another resident's room, leaving food all over the kitchen with no recollection and is sleeping all the time. How long for these side effects to wear off? (I am his caretaker, not a nurse, and have spoken with the pharmacist)
Does Quviviq cause hallucinations and paranoia?

Answers
Hallucinations are considered uncommon side effects.
Complex sleep behaviors such as sleep-walking, sleep-driving, preparing and eating food, making phone calls, having sex or doing other activities while not fully awake that you may not remember the next morning. Stop taking Quviviq and call your health care provider right away if you experience a complex sleep behavior.
