I am on this to slow my heart rate due to anxiety. I have suffered from migraines for 40 years as well as tension headaches. I’ve had no side effects, but I have not seen any relief in migraines. What side effect is bothering you that you’ve read? It will be awesome if this works for your migraines! Hope everything works out well for you.
Thank you for answering , i was worried about the nightmares & dizzy problems
I definitely have never experienced those! Best wishes!
Forgot to mention dosage! I take 40mg X 2 daily.
Thank you again for answering , really helpful .
I’ve never had nightmares on propranolol, but I’ve had some very vivid dreams. I was just chatting with my wife and she said, “I’ve never had any vivid dreams or nightmares on 80mg of propranolol daily.” I had forgotten how many rescue drugs she used to take for her migraines. This propranolol really helped her. My understanding is the scientist that developed it won the Nobel Peace Prize for medicine from it. I hope this helps! Good luck to you!
Thank you for answering its very helpful to me
Hi, Lins!
I've taken propranolol for years with no side effects but I do take it for hypertension due to anxiety disorders.
All medications can have potential side effects but they are pretty uncommon with propranolol.
Scroll down to the Professional section of this link to side effects and you'll see that only a a very small percentage of people will experience them.

Best regards and I hope it works well for you.
Thank you for answering it really is helpful to me
My wife had suffered with migraines for years. She started taking 40mg 2x a day three years ago, and has not had any migraines or any side effects. I take a low dose of 10mg 2x a day for anxiety. My understanding is the side effects of this medication increase with larger doses. We are all different, and I hope this helps. Good luck to you!
Thank you , that gives me confidence to take it , I read the side effects & was scared to take it , thank you
