No, it doesn't. It's in category B2.
Dear Mrderan, I was having deadly itching allover my hands and legs from the week I concieved. And I had been taking levocetrizine medicine which is said to be more safer than citrizine.. my doctor said I can hv it rarely.. m 5 weekspregnant now..and all is fine.. so ask ur doc and take it.. good luck! :)
You still need to inform your OB that you are taking this drug. I wasnt allowed to take anything like this during my pregnancies. The only allowed drugs were acetaminophen, Sudafed or Benedryl sparingly. Be sure your OB knows you are taking it and make sure it is ok for you to continue.
Hi Mrderan,
If you go above, to the blue bar, click on "Drugs A to Z" then it will prompt you from there, you can find out what class your medication is in, is it a class D, that could harm your baby? You can find out right away.
All I can say is that everything you put in your body whilst pregnant, your baby also receives. That is what my OB told me, and I always tell mums who come on here asking about their medications the same thing.
I wish you and baby the best,
Lara
I looked up Cetirizine for you. Tis a category B for pregnancy, it has shown no difference in human births nor in laboratory rats. So, this is good news for you and baby!
