If youre using it to prevent pregnancy you dont need to you have an iud.

I'm not worry about pregnancy but rather STI's, which the IUD does not prevent.

Ok, I've never heard anyone say they did. They aren't supposed to be cut so that they are sharp. We see so many girls here that use condoms with them, for birth control, we never know for sure. Ask your dr about it. Have you had a problem with it doing that? I would be interested to know if you did.
