I was prescribed 5mg of Lexapro for constant crying and depression triggered by one of my daughters moving from US to UK. The crying is absolute daily torture. I also take 1mg of clonazepam 2x daily since 2015 which does not do anything at this point, its more of a security from withdrawal i also take 100 mg of lamotrigine . Together those work excellent unless a major life change happens like this. I'm just wondering how much more daily crying and sadness will improve. Time does not always make things better.
Is it possible for 5mg of Lexapro to start working sooner then two weeks?

Hi, Jessy!
Many people begin to see some improvements in the first couple of weeks but it can take as long as 4-8 weeks to feel the full effects of the medication.
Try to stay positive and look for the improvements and not dwell too much on the negative. Distract your mind in enjoyable ways... a long walk, a good book, a favorite movie, a hobby. You'll probably start feeling better sooner than you expect.
