I have GERD for more than 30 years. I've used Pepcid. Pepcid comes as 20mg and 40mg doses, and if taken according to your doctor's instructions written on the label and gotten from a pharmacist it works very well for GERD . Pepcid can be bought in lower doses OTC (over the counter). Again, it should be taken according to the label. Other medications for GERD are OTC or by prescription in stronger doses by your doctor. Some of these low dose OTC are Nexium, Prevacid, Prilosec, but they are low doses and useful as starters to see if they are helpful. If you believe your doctor gave you an overdose you should see another doctor about your GERD condition. A gastroenterologist, also known as GI doctor, is a specialist in digestive issues. I suggest you see an internist he/she would be well qualified to help with these symptoms and not cost as much as a specialist. Best wishes to you in pursuit of a cure. And do your best to be clear in writing your questions. Here is why.
Your question is not clear. Your first sentence is very poor. What was the overdose that the doctor gave you, the name of the medication? I assume Pepcid is the medication you're referring to it's not a supplement and it's misspelled.
thank you for recommendations doc dosage was amoxicillin for dental procedure 4000mg within 24 hours. then the gut pain started, never stopped
just started pepcid complete . after endoscope 22 yrs ago doc found nothing wrong. this diagnosis non ulcer dyspepsia. currently want to withdraw from tylenol 3 after 2 years.
First and most important you seem to refer to me as a doctor ("thank you for recommendations doc") I am NOT A DOCTOR!
You're not being clear in your writing. You seem to say you have had pain for 22 years due to an overdose of amoxicillin. I doubt very much that would happen. You suggest it is stomach pain. You need to see a doctor about it. I've not heard of Tylenol 3. If you mean you took 3 Tylenol a day for 2 years, I would not do that without a doctor knowing it. Tylenol comes in various doses; some are mixed with other medications. The endoscope 22 years ago has no meaning today you could have developed problems since. Most pharmacies will have a pharmacist that will speak with you just ask the person at the counter and it will be a short wait. Pharmacists can tell you all about any drugs OTC and otherwise. Your habit with drugs seems to be self-medication and not doing what the label advises. I hope you visit a doctor soon. And I wish you recovery from what ails you. And good health in future. Be well.
