I live on the Georgia Tennessee line my doctor is a Tennessee doctor. I used to fill in Georgia on day 29 but my doctor change to filling only in Tennessee. I filled my first prescription in Walgreens . At my last doctors visit I told him I was going on vacation so they wrote down I could have it refilled on day 28 walgreens refuse to refill it on day 28 or 29 and treated me like a junkie is CVS any better ?

I've personally never had a problem with CVS filling my meds on day 29, but that's in KY. I don't know if that makes any difference, or if the fact that they've known me for years does either. Some insurance companies flat out refuse to allow any controlled substance to be refilled early. So it may not be Walgreens, but your insurance that's causing the problem.

Lisa thanks so much for ur advise... my insurance has always filled my Meds @ 29 days before but, that was in Ga..I guess what really gets me is the way Walgreens treated me..like I was trying to get one over on them..& they were going to show me... it really hurt ..I've never been treated that way before...

I understand completely. Suddenly anyone on pain meds is, or potentially is, an addict looking for their fix. As in the past, the behaviors of a few have effected many.

Update... I went to my Dr today..told them I was changing Pharmacies to CVS... got my Prescription,dated for today (30 days is on Wednesday) took my prescription to CVS..I'm sure they looked me up in the database & they had it filled in 15 mins!!! No questions asked & they were so nice & professional to me !!! So I guess my problem was Walgreens... I will be using CVS from now on !!

I'm so glad you got things worked out. I wouldn't trade my CVS pharmacy. Make sure you sign up for their "Extracare" rewards program. Register in the pharmacy program and get $5 in Extracare bucks for every 10 scripts filled. Special deals and ways to earn Extracare bucks in the rest of the store also.
