I was just recently diagnosed with MS and am having a hard time accepting it , I am doing my research on all different medications and side effects since I have numerous allergies.
My question is what should I do about the unbearable amount of pain I’m experiencing already?

I was diagnosed 11 years ago. Like you, I struggled with the diagnosis. I think fear is the dominating factor. Please know that MS is not a death sentence. My mother was diagnosed with MS at age 28; she is now 87 and still maintains an active life. I firmly believe a positive outlook has a lot to do with how you accept your new life. Be aware that you will go through all the stages of grief as you adjust to the changes in your life. Don't hesitate to seek counseling. I have gone through just about every pain remedy known and have found that medical cannibis (THC) to be the most affective. I limit the quantity since I don't like a high. Acupuncture, yoga and water aerobics help too. The biggest factor is to stay active. I'm a firm believer in the phrase "use it or lose it". The first year after diagnosis I was depressed and just sat in my recliner and asked "why me?". I soon decided, "Why not me?". I began a gratitude journal and began acupuncture and yoga. I soon found that if I could be a mentor to the newly diagnosed, then I would have purpose in "why me". Most important, learn to say "no" when you feel that you can't do things that you used to be able to do. Also learn to accept help from people without feeling guilty. People giving you help receive as much satisfaction from helping as you do from receiving. I am so sorry you have to go on this journey. I sincerely hope that you have a good support team at home. It's not going to be easy, but you might just discover a side of yourself that you didn't know existed. You will find a strength that you didn't know existed. I wish you well as you embark on this new chapter in your life.
