I recently went and filled my usual Adderall 30mg prescription ,, however this time I opened the bottle and had some round light orange pills marked U31. I thought I had gotten the wrong medicines by mistake but looked on the bottle and the description matched the pills so I then googled it and can't find any info on these new to me, not sure if they are actual new to everyone. I'm wondering if anyone has taken them and how they work compared to other generics. I normally take the Barr brand and took my first dose of these this morning and FELL ASLEEP. This isn't good at all. Anyone have comments?
Opinions of Adderall 30mg U31 pills?

Hey CL24!
It's 6 years after your question, so perhaps you were able to resolve things. I looked up the description and didn't see any negative publicity. I take Adderall (TEVA) and have been given other brands--asked my local Ma & Pa pharmacy to please order TEVA. So perhaps it's a matter of brand-preference.
I don’t have comments on that particularly, but I will tell you another generic that works well is Teva. I believe Walgreens uses Teva. You could see if you’re dr. Would let you take the bad generics to him and write you anew one and take it to a “better” pharmacy.
So I've been on Adderall for the better part of 16 years. I take 3 30s a day. I can vouch for the U31s not being great. They actually made me more jittery and unfocused than anything. Teva and Sandoz have always been the ones that work best for me. I also liked the mallinckrodt white octsgans, but those have been notoriously hard to get. I will have to disagree with those that have stated that just because it's the same active ingredient that it works the same. The FDA allows a variance in the actual amount of active ingredient in generics. With name brand you are getting 100% amphetamine salts, generics may be only 80% and that's going to present a noticeable difference for someone using Adderall for years. Also, while the binders are inert and have no medicinal effect, some can cause people to feel completely off.
I've experienced it and my pharmacist of 15 years said that is one of the most common things patients call about when pharmacies change manufacturers. Everyone's body chemistry is different. I'm also prescribed Xanax 2mg since 2011. I love Breckenridge blue B707 bar, but I know people that seem to think they're sugar pills. Find what pharma works for you and hope it's not backordered to hell like most amp salts these days.
Yes. This is amphetamine dextroamphetamine. Or 30mg addies. They are medium round orange pulls printed U31. I took some before and slept all night and the next following day. Your body will adjust to the change after a while of continuing use.
Was given these u31's last week at CVS. These are pure garbage. Sandoz made 30's were perfect for me and out of no where cvs switched on me to these. I thought they were off but wasn't positive of it until about a week in, I realized for a fact that these are toxic junk and give me all types of side effects a few days on them: headaches, muscle cramps, don't feel focus or calm, constipation.
Talked to doctor and cvs pharmacy. Excuses, full of bullshhh. Shouldn't have wasted my time talking to idiots who defend FDA or med makers.
They won't refill for a new different brand. Gotta wait till next month and ask for sandoz adderall.
Your so right man
I have never taken Adderall made by Barr but I have taken the round ones with U31 on them. In my opinion, they didn’t work as well for me. I normally take Teva orange football shaped ones and won’t take any other type. I have tried looking into why pills from different manufacturers react differently. I have read that the “fillers” in medications are the different and that is why some medications act differently to different people. I have also heard but am not sure if this is true, that the Teva Adderall has three salts. I have asked people who are subscribed Adderall and most (pretty much everyone ) prefers the Teva Adderall over the others, like the U31’s. I’m not sure where you live. I live in the Boston area. In order to get the Teva brand Adderall, you have to go to a Walgreens because they have the contract with Teva.
If I was you, the next time you go to fill you prescription, I would ask the pharmacist specifically for the Barr Adderall and if they say they do not have them, then call other pharmacies and ask if they carry them. Also, never leave the counter at the pharmacy prior to opening and looking at your prescriptions. Once you leave you can’t return them. The pharmacist or technician should of informed you that you were receiving Adderall from a different manufacturer then you are normally given.
When I recently received "back ordered" prescriptions filled at Rite Aid, I was not informed and did not expect a change in the brand from Teva to aurobindo. All I gotta say is whom do I sue for substituting this ineffective mulch of whatnot/whoknowswhat'sinit headache inducing wannabe imitation of a round pill?
Does anyone recall the generic Adderall shortage 2011-2012 and the reasons provided for the scarcity? I was "officially" informed that the govt only releases a certain amt of amphetamine substance that is dispensed yearly to the drug manufacturers. But with increased prescriptions necessitated by college students and the growing awareness of adults with add/adhd, the drug companies had a difficult dilemma in supplying the rising demands with their allocated proportions of the drug's formulation/properties. They had to adjust the percentages, adding similar fillers to satisfy the drug's potency/efficacy.
Back then, though, that expected efficacy wasn't sustained for too long, to about 85%. My doctor had to increase the dosage for maintenance. I found out 2 yrs ago that the efficacy was around 65-75%, depending on the mg dosagings by manufacturers.
Most importantly, anyone remember the sneaky reprocessing of unsalable XR's into reconstituted regular generic Adderall formulas? Back then, I knew something was wrong due to late afternoon irritability that was/is a very unusual characteristic for me. I told my doctor that it was a similar reaction to the XRs I was prescribed when 1st taking the meds years before and had to change over to the regular, non enhanced meds.
Both he and I decided to discover the cause of this unwanted symptom in our separate methods to get answers from Teva/Barr. Of course, all I 1st rec'd was a form letter of later follow up to my inquiry into the suspiciously familiar XR reactions I had once before exhibited with the actual XR formula. But the genuine response came from the state's drug ombudsman office alerted by my Subject heading: WHOM DO I SUE???
They had begun an investigation into the escalating reports they'd been receiving about this unusual effect in people who never experienced it until that recent time. Teva/Barr or one of their facilities had been adding overstock of their XRs into the the manufacture of the generic Adderall, which culminated in the time released delivery for the XRs, causing over stimulation that was more of an annoyance than a dangerous health concern. The company rec'd a hefty fine for their nondisclosure of manipulating the re-use manufacture of the XR inclusion.
If reports are authentic that the shortage of the Teva brand is due to all the hurricane resulting difficulties experienced in Puerto Rico, then it's understandable that they're in a backordered situation. If that isn't the reason, they or the FDA should inform the thousands of people who take and have taken this necessary med for very legitimate health/medical purposes.
Why is it an acceptable dismissal of our need to know NOW disruptions of routine prescriptions so that we won't need to resort in hustling around for a substitute med to avoid the agony of the physical, emotional WITHDRAWAL turmoil that cuts no slack for any client/consumer/patient?
This is the first time I have gotten the U31 orange round tablets... I had always gotten the other kind, these do not seem to do anything, I do not like them and want the other back... hopefully this isn’t going to be permanent...
ive taken adderall for about 5 years and have always got the u31s so i wouldnt know whether they are different because ive never taken any other, they do seem short time effective as i take 2 30mg daily and usually after about 3 hours feel their crashing lethargic irritable weakening. im from small rural area my question is if i call other pharmacies to ask about teva or other brand specific, is this common and is the pharmacists going to treat me like a druggy? i have never preferred any particular color/brand hydrocodone but just curious. i am cash pay my insurance doesnt cover bc im over 18 thanks
yup. I didn't fall asleep, but def not the usual effects from what I always get which is either the Barr, or the generic Teva. The Teva's I fill are the 20mg bc the 30's are hard to find where I am and prefer not to have to drive around to 20 different pharmacies to fill. Additionally, most pharmacies require that the address on your id be within a close proximity to the location filling the script which makes finding 30's even more challenging. I've heard nothing but negative reviews about the U31's. Garbage.
I have been on Teva 30 mg Adderall for many years but as of late there has been a shortage of Teva Adderall in my area. Today at the pharmacy, I received Aurolife's U-31 tablets 30mg. These are TRASH!!! I feel very spacey and have a lack of focus and energy. NEVER AGAIN...
I went to a different pharmacy a few times my medication would be different shape or color, l wasn't pleased but when I took the pill it worked the same.l learned to just wait until my regular pharmacy got the meds in.lf I'm missing some points i apologize
I agree that these are not near as effective. I've been on the 30ng tabs for a few months now. I was taking 2 20mg a day then bumped up to 2 30mg. In my opinion, the 30mg Teva brand have worked the best for me. Again, that's just me. Everyone is different. Medications aren't going to work the same for everyone. Just like antidepressants. Honestly the best generic I've had was the Sandoz brand. I would get them from a local owned pharmacy when I was on the 20mg dose and they were the most effective for me. Then one day I go in and fill and noticed the pill was lighter than usual. I tried it and about an hour later I had a headache starting to set in and an upset stomach. I checked the bottle and it was aurobindo. I asked the pharmacy why the switch and they told me they could no longer order the Sandoz brand generic IR.
I went to several different pharmacies and 4 of them only offered the auro brand and were unable to or refused to order the Sandoz brand. Another had the tiny white 20mg tablets which were absolutely horrible as well. I couldn't even find the pink generic anymore. I finally decided to go back to Walmart and use the Teva generic. They make the non generic and the pharmacist there told me they would be my best bet as far as effectiveness because of this. They were better but still didn't work quite as long as the Sandoz for me. After talking to my doctor he decide to up my dosage to 2 30mg twice a day. He thought maybe it was my Tolerance going up causing the problem I was having with the Teva wearing off sooner. When I switched my dose I did go back to the local pharmacy to see if they offered Sandoz in the the 30 but they did not. They however offer to order me the Teva 30mg. So since then I have been taking the Teva generic 30mg IR and have been doing well. I did lend a few to a friend who missed her appt for her refill who takes the same dose I do. When she gave them back to me, they were the 30mg auro brand. Same problems came back as far as headache and upset stomach. For her though, they work great and she prefers them over any other generic. She does agree with me about the tiny white generics though when she was on the 29mg as well. My doctor said he has had quite a few people complain about that generic and that they felt they wasted their months prescription when getting them. Again, this is only an opinion of myself and a few others. Medications work different for everyone. I have always had weird reactions and side effects to meds. I went through 7 different antidepressants before I finally tried Trintillex and had positive results and no side effects, where as a lot of people had really bad side effects when they tried it.
I have been on Adderall for over 10 years and was on Ritalin before being switched to this. The U30 and U31 round pink pills are terrible in my opinion. I have absolutely NO effect when I take them. I usually get a calm nice focus that stays at least 6 hours after taking my tablet in the morning when taking the Teva football shaped ones. I take 2 a day and never have had any variation of effectiveness. The U31 from Aurolife is terrible and I would be better off taking nothing then taking them. This is the first month on that type and I would never allow myself to get them again.
Don’t feel the same effects as with the other 30mgs I’ve had. I’m taking mine back to the pharmacist to see if they can replace with my previous.
