I just took elderberry syrup and then took NyQuil about 5 minutes later. I probably should have waited a few hours between as I felt very uncomfortable for about 15 minutes as the NyQuil went through my body. Thankfully it was a short reaction but I wouldn’t want it to happen again.
Sambucol Black elderberry is not regulated by the FDA in the US and is classified as a dietary supplement. Because of this it has not been subjected to the same safety or efficacy requirements as a medicine and there is very little literature available in regards to potential drug interactions. Check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
