The medicine is Thyroid NP. I once noticed a fishy odor from my vagina while taking a GNC product for women/weightless. As soon as I stopped taking it the odor went away. That's what made me think this medication might be the culprit of my current odor because the medicine stinks!
NP Thyroid - Has anyone experienced a bad vaginal smell with this medication?

I have been taking NP Thyroid for about 3 months and I have been experiencing a slight smell. I’ve gone to the Dr and have been tested and everything came back negative. I’m going to try another thyroid medicine to see if this does the trick.
I too have had problems with odor since starting Thyroid NP. I've been taking it for two months now and I have a nasty vaginal odor that is constant. I carry those personal cleansing wipes with me all the time. I also have a smell that comes out when I sweat (which I've never had before). It makes me wonder, is this what pigs smell like? It's awful. I sweat a lot, too, due to hypothyroidism and humidity - it was a long summer this year.
I am having the same thing go on.
I take NP thyroid perscribed by my dr. & yes, The medicine smells horrible.
And this odor will not leave even after taken flagyl for BV.
I know when I have an infection down there & right now I dont believe I do, because there is no discharge or itching... this is just a lingering odor. Not exactly a fish smell but its not “right” either if you know what I mean.
I know im supposed to take the thyroid medicine daily, but I think im going to lay off of it for a few days and see what happens. I took it for all of October, by mid November the odor came. Its now end of December and its still here.
**Before I october I was taking Nature thyroid that doesnt have a smell. Only went to NP thyroid because they were out of stock in Nature Thyroid.
Sooo im trying to see if its the thyroid medicine bcz my Gyno keeps giving me things to take. But there is no point in taking that from her if im still taking the thyroid medicine daily, that is if its the culprit.
Personally, I would NEVER take a product which is sold through GNC. It's junk. Did you happen to eat at Captain D's or Red Lobster that same day? Just saying...
No. I am a raw vegan. I'm very careful about what I put in my body. I haven't taken anything from GNC since then either. That was 8 yrs ago.
I am not familiar with NP Thyroid. I take Nature-Throid, which is a natural dessicated thyroid hormone in tablet form. It is hypoallergenic, which makes it superior to Armour Thyroid. I have taken it successfully for almost 20 years.
It is a prescription med not covered by Medicare, but I pay cash price at Walmart $18 for a 90 day supply. It's an excellent product. Google it.
OOPS! Since it made from porcine glands, it would not be a good fit for a raw vegan. Sorry, my mistake!
I actually took Nature thryoid for several months and it wasn't working for me.
OK... I have taken other thyroid meds as well. Regardless of which ones, they had to be tweaked until I was receiving the right dose. Thyroid hormones are known to fluctuate quite a bit, therefore, may doctors keep a check on thyroid levels with blood work to keep it at the right dosage.
If you don't think you need a prescription thyroid hormone, I used to take something called "Thyrolar capsules" from my naturopath. They have several thyroid boosting supplements available.

When you took the NP thyroid or when you became raw vegan?
