I also take simvastatin but never suffered with constipation until I started Norvasc?
Does Norvasc cause constipation? I have never had constipation until I started this medication?

Yes, it can cause constipation:
Gastrointestinal
Common (1% to 10%): Abdominal pain, nausea
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Vomiting, dyspepsia, altered bowel habits (including diarrhea and constipation), dry mouth
Very rare (less than 0.01%): Pancreatitis, gastritis, gingival hyperplasia, loose stools
Frequency not reported: Dysphagia, flatulence
Simvastatin can also cause constipation:
Gastrointestinal
Common (1% to 10%): Constipation, nausea, flatulence, diarrhea, dyspepsia, abdominal pain
Very rare (less than 0.01%): Protein-losing enteropathy
Frequency not reported: Anorexia, pancreatitis, vomiting
Thanks for the heads up! Gotta start Norvasc today. Always had constipation issues so I guess it will worsen.
