Hey jflnan,
The nitro may cause increased urination but I have to ask a question, why is she taking the nitro for back spasm or neck pain? Nitroglycerin is not for skeletal muscle spasm and pain. It is prescribed for chest pain by allowing blood to flow more freely and the heart to pump more easily. Just concerned that she isn't taking for the right reasons.
Best wishes,
Laurie
She has Ovarian Cancer and being treated with Chemo for 3 years or so, then a blood clot in leg and now the heart attach. Her Dr. told her she could take the nitro if needed, altho she is on Plavix, baby aspirin, don't know what wlse, I know she gets blood transfusian and some other injection fr White cells. I guess her pain was great enough for her to dose herself and it worked as far as she is concerned. I told her to call her Dr., but she said she see's him tomorrow and it was a holiday weekend. I hope she does tell him.
Might suggest she review with the doctor when it is appropriate to take the nitro and for what types of pain. Glad she sees the doctor tomorrow.
Laurie, can't believe someone TD'd you! Wanted to add that when I was having common bile duct spasm my gastro doc had me using nitro tabs that I already had for my heart, for intestinal spasms. It works wonderful, & is commomly used for these conditions also.
