Thanks to the implant nexplanon I had finally started having regular periods. My cycle is always 28 days long since about the 3rd month in to having it. I'm now 2 and a half years in and for the first time ever I have missed my period. I had a little spotting a few days ago but no full blown period like I've always had. I've done tests and got very clear negatives so don't think it's pregnancy. What could be stopping me coming on? Understandably I am worried as I've had no problems up until this month
Had nexplanon implant for 2 and a half years and suddenly I've missed my period?

mummy010731; Just to be safe you should check with your doctor soon. since you have been so regular then out of the blue this has happened. But I JUST read it's less then 1% chance of being pregnant. But you can't be to safe contact your doctor.
I'm gonna go to my doctors Monday if I'm not on by then. I've only been late once before and it was due to a huge amount of stress I was put under. I'm under a fair bit of stress this time around to due to personal circumstances. I've done several home pregnancy tests all different brands and strength and had all strong negatives which is a little reassuring. I'll be sure to update when I get answers from doctors if that's where I end up. I know I've not been ovulating as I track it now and again and just so happened to do checks through this cycle. Bar a very unlikely pregnancy what else could be the cause?
Lot's of things can still effect this just like the last time it was stress and your under stress now again and also now worring about this So just wait until you see the doctor and go from there hang in there like I said it's less than 1% chance enjoy your weekend.
Thankyou you have been helpful. I've noticed some spotting and cramping tonight so here's hoping it was stress related. Will still update no matter what the outcome is
mummy010731 great that is a good sign try and take it easy and not to worry it does not take much to through things off hopefully that is all it is.
Unfortunately the spotting has stopped. That's today's update. I'm having a lot of cramping though. Never experienced anything quite like this
Well at least you have a doctors appt coming up and you can get some answers. Please update would like to know why.
I will although with the pain I'm in I may end up up the hospital if it doesn't subside
Mummy; Your the best judge there if it gets to bad get in to see someone better being safe. You know your body better than anyone. Please keep us updated and hope the discomfort subsides soon. CHUCK1957
I know. It doesn't seem to be easing off so I'm going to call the none emergency line and see what they say. Will update asap
Good that is a great idea, Then go from there just never fails its always on a weekend when this stuff happens
Update! Massive cramping wasn't in vein I've suddenly come on. I'm still going to my doctor to have some checks done as it's never interfered with my cycle before. Will be happy to update when I've been.
Great and glad your going to see the doctor whenever it changes from what you are used to can always be a sign of something else but hope the cramps let us and your in better shape try and have a good day.
Thankyou for your support during this time. It helped keep my mind at ease whilst working out what to do. Definitely going to visit my doctor as want to make sure everything is OK with the cycle I'm having and that my implant is still working efficiently. If it isn't I'll be exploring other contraception!
Never a problem glad I was able to help, And I agree if a problem with this one it's time for a change, Just having someone to bounce Ideas off of always helps with some things so upsetting. Wish you all the best. Please let me know what doctor says so I well know more about this if it happens to anyone else. You deserve a rest now.
The same thing literally just happened to me. I've had my implant since July 2013 and had a very regular cycle. Then this month, just less than a day of light spotting. I actually just realized I'm 8 days late so I'm quite concerned. I can still feel the implant in my arm so it isn't "lost." I'm going go take a pt if it doesn't start in the next 2 days.
Hopefully you're just experiencing what I had. Keep us updated!
Please keep us posted. Just find it wierd that with the time you both have had these and no problems then after a few years bang out of nowhere. Please post what you find out for future ref.
