I started Methylphenidate last week. I'm taking it to treat my depression. This past week I've had headaches come and go, jaw pain, and I get really nauseous at random times. I know this drug causes weight loss but I don't know if nearly vomiting every time I eat or even think about eating is normal. Has anyone else experienced something like this?
Nausea on Methylphenidate?

I recently started taking Ritalin (for depression related fatigue). I didn't notice any side effects the first few weeks. Then all of a sudden I began having random bouts of severe
nausea... yesterday I puked on and off for several hours. I plan on calling my Psych doc this morning.
It is not an antidepressant. I don't see it treating it. Why did your dr order a controlled drug for depression? I'd tell the dr I wanted off the stuff and onto a real drug for depression. This drug is addicting.
I'd appreciate it if you had only answered with a response to my actual question instead of providing a lecture on why I shouldn't use this drug.
The drug can cause dependence not addiction. I don't have any problem with it. I'm the max dose of Wellbutrin and I have still been struggling. I taking Methylphenidate and Ritalin to get me out of bed in the morning and stay active throughout the day instead crashing at 3pm every day because the body aches and energy loss are too much to deal with. Also it really is not that uncommon to use these drugs for treatment-resistant depression. Methylphenidate is only a controlled drug because too many stupid college students started using it to cram for tests they failed anyway. That doesn't change the fact that the drug can be useful for purposes other than narcolepsy, ADD, and ADHD.
This is not a comment intended for the answer but I am confused by this website. Intended for OP I do hope you aren't taking 2 different scripts one labeled Methylphenidate and one Ritalin. I have a feeling it was just the way you worked it but they are the same drug one generic, one brand name. Just want to be sure 2 doctors aren't prescribing and double dosing. Not trying to be a butthole just some people know very little about medications and just do what Doctor and label say without hesitation. I'm sure you are smart enough though
