Naltrexone is used in the treatment of alcohol dependence; fibromyalgia; opiate dependence; trichotillomania; smoking cessation and belongs to the drug classes antidotes, drugs used in alcohol dependence. Risk cannot be ruled out during pregnancy. Naltrexone is not a controlled substance under the Controlled Substance Act (CSA).
