After taking Ozempic, I noticed major hair loss. I switched to Mounjaro recently and hoping the hair loss stops. Anyone else in this situation.
Does Mounjaro cause hair loss like Ozempic?

It’s not the GLP-1 medication that’s causing hair loss, it’s the rapid weight loss. I had hair loss on keto and the HCG diet as well as on Mounjaro. Some people lose their hair, some don’t. I know I’m in the group that loses hair when I lose a lot of weight. Most of it does come back after about a year, it takes a lot of time.
I noticed hair loss when I went on the 5 dosage after two months. Maybe it was going to happen anyway. I went back on the 2.5. Major amounts of hair was lost, went from a super thick ponytail to very thin. Have been off 8 weeks. Hair loss has returned to normal but I have never had such thin hair. All indications are it will come back. I did lose 25 pounds in 5 months and have kept it off. Hair loss was the # 1 reason I stopped Mounjaro.
I too went off it after 3 months due to major hair loss. Too bad because my A1C was great! I’m so bummed out!
I’ve been on Mounjaro and my hair is falling out ugh
People in support groups for Mounjaro recommend getting plenty of protein to prevent hair loss.
I do eat a high protein low carb diet because I’m diabetic and it didn’t matter. My hair was coming out in handfuls
