I think Steven had the right idea. In the future, if I were you and if you get the symptoms frequently, what I would do is get my doctor to write a prescription for Diflucan (fluconazole). It's a single pill you take, and that's it (although if you still continue to have symptoms several days later you can take a second pill). Yeast infections are so common with women, doctors seem to have no problem prescribing it, and many women ask for a prescription of it to go along with a prescription for antibiotics, should they ever have to take them. I have a backup supply of this medication at home so if I ever feel a yeast infection coming on, I just have to reach into the cabinet, and my symptoms never get beyond that first day. I hope you get to feeling better soon. If Steven's suggestion doesn't work, you may want to go ahead and set an appointment to see your doctor, because it's possible you may be dealing with something more than a yeast infection, like bacterial vaginosis. The discharge is usually white or gray in color, and as embarrassing as this is to say, a key symptom is that it smells like fish. Wishing you all the best.
I read a story a few months ago about this issue. A woman was complaining about a foul smell in her work cubicle, which escalated in to her blaming management of bullying, providing a workspace unfit for humans, the works and the company brought in consultants about the airconditioning until this woman realised that the smell was always with her; her friends had been too polite to mention it and it was herself with a horrid case of vaginosis.

That is the most funny thing, the most embarrassing thing and the saddest thing all rolled into one!!! I do feel for her, but come on, girl! A little situational awareness! ("Hmm... if I smell it at work AND every time I use the commode at home... " LOL That girl needs some GOOD girlfriends at work!!!
If I were you I might be inclined to use the 3 day treatment (remember to use a panty liner) and follow the directions to the letter. I can't see why you can't start now.
