Methylprednisolone - Can I drink alcohol while taking this medication?

Hi, the interactions checker doesn't bring anything up, but to be safe i would double check with a doctor or pharmacist...

My step father drank about 3-4 whiskeys a day while taking prednisolone for his rheumatoid arthritis for about 20 years. He did get gout however.

I didn't mean that as a recommendation to drink. I was just sharing the only experience I have. As a result of his extended use of Prednisolone his bones have the strength of twigs and is currently in hospital having had an awkward fall that shattered 1/4th of his ribs.

Ugh... just saying... hopefully this is a temporary medication that you are going to taper off of. Otherwise, it digests in your liver. Also this medication is a glucocorticoid so it will also effect your metabolism, increasing the amount of sugar you store in your body. That's right... weight gain, Diabeties, as well as edema.
