Methylprednisolone - Can I drink alcohol while taking this medication?

Hi, the interactions checker doesn't bring anything up, but to be safe i would double check with a doctor or pharmacist...
My step father drank about 3-4 whiskeys a day while taking prednisolone for his rheumatoid arthritis for about 20 years. He did get gout however.

I didn't mean that as a recommendation to drink. I was just sharing the only experience I have. As a result of his extended use of Prednisolone his bones have the strength of twigs and is currently in hospital having had an awkward fall that shattered 1/4th of his ribs.

Ugh... just saying... hopefully this is a temporary medication that you are going to taper off of. Otherwise, it digests in your liver. Also this medication is a glucocorticoid so it will also effect your metabolism, increasing the amount of sugar you store in your body. That's right... weight gain, Diabeties, as well as edema. Research your medication. Best of luck.
