Hi Wyvv,
See your family doctor to find out what is going on. If you can't get in to see your doctor within the next 2 weeks, go to a walk-in clinic and see what they say.
Either way, take along a list of all the medicines and supplements you have been taking any current or recent medical conditions or symptoms. Having a written list saves time and makes sure nothing gets skipped over or forgotten.
In particular, note how much weight you were loosing per month or week. From personal experience, I know that it is alarming to a doctor when a patient loses 25 pounds in one month. But losing 25 pounds over 6 months is much less so.
There are many things that can cause unintentional weight loss, and while glipizide is one of them, just because you are on glipizide does not mean the muscle loss is not due to something else. This might be aging, or it might be one of the many other causes of unintentional weight and muscle loss.
I'm just another patient, but I'm sure any medical professional is going to tell you the same thing, to get an in-person check-up with your personal physician. When you book the appointment, you might want to ask about any routine blood tests the doctor will want, so he can have those results in hand when he sees you.
Good luck. I wish I could help more.
