Meloxicam - what is the half-life effect of Mobic AND can Mobic be taken just once or twice per?

I have tried Meloxicam and it is wonderful but the side effects of eructations and flatus are quite severe. I already take Prilosec for erosive gastritis. If the halft-life of the drug is several days just from one tablet, could I get continued successful relief from only taking it once or twice per week.

Meloxicam's half life is 15 to 20 hours. You could probably take it as needed but it wont work as well. You need to build a constant blood level to get good consistent relief and this can take several days of therapy. If it is causing side effects, talk to your Dr about other options.
I am on meloxicam, which I love, and I take it every 12 hrs.
it doesn't take me completly out of pain but I can manage, which with Fibro, is a dream.
My pain manager explained that you must take it per the instructions for maximum relief.
