I am a 27-years-old newly-wed trying to get pregnant. I stopped taking birth control in April 2009 before the wedding May 16th 2009. I missed my cycle June 2009 and never saw another one until Dec 2009 and very, very heavy. My doctors appointment was Dec 29th and he then put me on Medroxyprogesterone the first 10 days of the month each month. I wonder if I will be pregnant soon? We are trying to have our first child together and I want to make sure that I am doing what I can to make that happen. Is there something else I should be doing? I have just finished my first prescription of
Medroxyprogesterone, and my hair is really growing. I do feel a little bloated though too. Should I take a pregnancy test every month?

So, when should I try to get pregnant? Like 1 or 2 days after my cycle? I take the medroxyprogesterone the 1st to the 10th, when will my period come back on you think? We really want to get pregnant.
Answers
Ideally you should ovulate after you finish your period. So I hope they have explained the times you should try to conceive. Please bear in mind that some women don't ovulate which is part of the fertility problem, so if you don't become pregnant after a couple of months I would suggest you go back to your doctor and perhaps see a gynecologist. They can see if you are ovulating or not and may be able to help by inducing ovulation.
Sometimes fertility treatments can take time so the more proactive you are in going back to the doctor the faster your doctor can perhaps try another step in the treatment.
