Typically that means every 8-hours

Both of the answers above are good. If you already take medication on any kind of schedule, choose the answer that best fits in this schedule. You're more likely not to miss a dose that way.
Generally tho three times a day at home is acceptable to be on arising and sleep and then mid way in between.
