Mag citrate is pretty quick and will clean you out temporarily. Don't take it and go out in public. It should work starting in as little as 30 minutes. Sounds like you have some underlying medical condition like Irritable bowel syndrome. Try reducing acidy foods and drinks and greasy foods and making sure you get lots of water and fiber in your diet. Try eating things a little more bland. You might try some prilosec otc, even the store brand and see if it improves any when there is not as much stomach acid being released. I have GERD, gastro erosive reflux disease and I can NOT eat cooked tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, oranges, or orange juice, advil, aspirin, or aleve. If I take prilosec regularly and avoid foods I know will make my stomach burn and hurt, I don't bloat or have stomach upset.
