Anyone out there over 60 discontinued sertraline and lose weight?
I'm a 66 year old female. I've been on Sertraline for about 5 years after my brother's death from ALS, and having COVID-19 myself, wreak havoc on my anxiety!
I've put on about 15lbs since and I'm so uncomfortable! My cholesterol is up. My A1C is up. I know some of these issues are caused from aging and less activity. I've lowered my Sertraline from 75mg to 25mg. I'd like to get off of it entirely.
I'm also on 25mg of Metoprolol for SVT (arrhythmia). I was told by my doctor that I could stop taking that as well.
Anyway..weight loss a possibility for an older lady? :)~

I am 74 and was on Sertraline low dose 25 then 50 for only six months I did gain about 10 lbs Weaned off it due to weight gain and seems it affects all the blood results too Although the anxiety is creeping back again I think it takes some time for your system to get back to normal They want me to try lexapro but I don’t like the reviews I read Think the Sertraline increases appetite I also had trouble sleeping didn’t matter if I took it day or night
Did you end up losing weight?
I have not gained anymore but not lost. However I haven’t been strict going through the holidays. Will see how it goes with New Year. Also think some of it is the stress eating
Oh yes! The holidays!! Ugh..thank you for answering!
