i had gotten nexplanon implanted at my 6 week check up after having my daughter(sometime around aug 2012) i literally bled almost every single day besides a few weeks, and finally got it taken out 2 weeks ago, i was just wondering if i need to get on something right away or how long it takes for the nexplanon to be out of your system, esp considering i had unprotected sex 2 days after getting it removed. thank you

I got mine taken out 2 weeks ago & have been feeling very nauseous the past few days. I'm not sure if this is from the removal or I could be pregnant. Did you get any symptoms?

Hello I know it has been a while since you posted but I just wondered how you figured out your due date and how pregnant you was? I had mine removed 23/02/2016 found out I was pregnant 30/03/2016 and had no period since removal which normally that is how they calculate due date by first day of your last period... well I haven't had one so how do I know how long I am? Thank you

I had the implant on May,15,2015 and was continually bleeding while on it everyday spotting and light bleeding i got it removed Sep,10,2015 and stopped bleeding the same day . they say you can get pregnant the same week its out me and my boyfriend didnt do anything until yesterday night .. And they also said you can get your period within 6months .. Yesterday i went to the bathroom and wiped and it was blood and today the same thing just a little more what does this mean

I actually was Sporting for about 2 months after I got the nexplanon and my doc said it was normal. After a little over 2 months the bleeding stoped and my cicle went back to normal.

I have been on nexplanon now for 2 years since I've had my son. and although it is good for preventing pregnancy (at least for me) the bleeding is terrible I can go months with only having a few weeks with no bleeding. I did not know about prescriptions that can control the bleeding. I know a friend of mine had gotten her implant taken out and within 2 weeks of removal she found out she was pregnant but it all depends on the person!

I got the nexoplexon bar put in on 9/13/16 (I was 17) and got it taken out 2/14/17 (6 days before my 18th birthday) because my fiance and I decided we wanted to TTC and my cramps were horrible with it in we have been TTC since February 2017 and here it is July 2018 and we have failed to get pregnant every month since then and in February 2017 and February 2018 I had a late period by a week but I wasn't pregnant I really regret getting the nexoplexon bar because all I want now is a baby I'm 19 about to be 20 in February and nothing would make me happier than having a child with my husband

I had the implant In for 3 yrs and it’s been out for 2 now and I’ve been trying to get pregnant for a year now with no luck only a late period at the most. I had a horrible experience on this bc. Im going to track my ovulation before asking the doctor for pills to help my fertilization because I’m scared I’ll end up with twins if I take pills to boost my hormones

I just got my Nexplanon removed today. It was a total nightmare so thankful it's over. Well anyways I asked the doctor how long should I wait to have sex again and she said I was covered for 72 hours after removal. I'm still bleeding even though it was removed. I have been bleeding since she put it in my arm three months ago. You ovulate 4 days after your period so that's the scariest time to have unprotected sex. Hope this is helpful have a great day hun!

You do not ovulate 4 days after your period, it is 14 days from the first day you start your period. Day one being the first day of bloody show. Please don't post answers if you're not knowledgeable on the topic. This will effect other people's lives when given wrong information.

Actually when you ovulate depends on the woman and her cycle. Like I used to ovulate 8-9 days after the first day of my period before nexplanon. Everyone is different.

Iv had my nexplanon for about 9 months and my doctor recently explained to me that it can get you pregnate within weeks or even days
Somtimes younger girls may not get pregnet at all, and sometimes girls get pregnate within days

I heard that you can get pregnant depending on your hormones some people get pregnant after getting it removed that day then again there's some people that get pregnant while on it and then there are some people that can't get pregnant for a while because of itit all just depends on your bodyto be honest I've had it for over 2 years now and I'm freaking out now because I've had unprotected sex 2 weeks ago and I am starting to feel nauseous and get really sharp pains where my hip bones are and dizzy and my friend came inside of me and i think he hit my cervix when he did cause I could feel it n now im freaking out cause I think I may be cause I haven't had any side effects well being on this birth control for over 2 years

I had my remove October 28 andiI didn't get my period and had unprotected sex on Friday Saturday and Sunday. I started taking birth control Thursday I'm freaking out too.

I had the nexpanon for a year my periods came nd went every two or three months for 2 to 3 weeks at a time. My last period was in September. I had it removed on Oct. 22 2014 nd Had unprotected sex like 2 or three days later and then a week after that. But no signs of a period or ovulation. Could I be pregnant?

I doubt you're pregnant, dont get me wrong im no expert, but after you took it off by by any chance were you ovulating? When was your last period? It really all depends.

Hi I had nexplano remove June 15 of 2017 and I got it in April or May of 2017 and when I took it off I had unprotect sex the same day and the following 2 days and I was bleeding a lil bit from when I stopped the nexplano and then me and my man been having unprotect sex and the bleeding stopped

see i had mine removed july and only had one cycle in sept and we trying to have another baby. my question is ive been on the depo shot and it took me up to 6 before i was able to get preg with my son and i know nexplon is like the depo shot is it going to take me that long with the nexplon?

I was on Implanon, which is the same thing as Nexplanon, for the full three years and within a month I was pregnant. I hear it depends on the woman but you should be able to get pregnant right after removal.

It took me 10 months to even have a period after stopping Implanon and then after that I conceived. I just had Nexplanon removed on Dec. 3rd and still no period but we are trying for another baby

I got my nexplannon removed yesterday afternoon and this morning my period started. So more than likely it does stop working right away. BUT it varies on different women. Others say it takes months for them to become fertile again.

I had the nexplannon for 3 years after I had my son. We have been trying for 7 months to have another baby but my cycle is so messed up now. Before and after pregnancy it was 7 day's every month and always started on the 19th of every month. Now, I never know when my period will start. the first menstrual cycle I had after getting me implanton birth control rod removed my period had lasted 7 days. It then went down to five days and was like that for the remainder of the next few months, except for last month when I can't remember if it was three or four days I have already had 2 periods that I have missed entirely and ended up bleeding at the end of the month (also for 5 days) and the stress has gotten to me to where I am as close as can be to giving up on having more children. I do have a stressful life and i have anxiety alot. Usually I have an achy somewhat painful feeling in my right ovary it goes away but will come back.
It doesn't last long and it's bearable but it's making me worry. It hasn't happened in a little while. I tried tracking my period when I would ovulate but it was so difficult because I could never tell when I was actually ovulating I feel like I can't have kids anymore and it's causing severe depression and anxiety I sleep all the time because I'm always so upset. I have lost a lot of motivation because I feel like I'm broken. Please help me... I just turned 24. I should be able to have babies so why can't i? I am over weight. I am 5,9 and roughly around 285lbs maybe less maybe more. I had my cervix and vaginal entry area checked with a pap at my local health department a little over a month ago and they said everything looks very healthy.

I'm struggling the the same thing it's been 5 months now and I'm starting to get very worried that I won't be able to conseive. I have even been prescribed medicine to increase my Progesterone levels but I still get my period.

To jysicca please please please dont stress, ino it's easy for somebody else too say. Truly though I missed 1 pill with one of mine and same as you had very Reg periods before nexplanon. Had it removed when son was 4 and started trying straight away, it is so true that when you are trying your body releases a stress hormone because you are worrying about everything( when is it going to happen, how long). In the end we gave up trying after 2 years and learnt to enjoy beautiful boy we already had. And just like magic found out I was pregnant on Boxing Day 2015, about 4 months after letting it all go and letting myself believe if it was ment to be it will happen when the times right. I promise if you and your hubby have conceived before it will 100% happen again. When trying for a baby our body and hubbies releases stress hormones that I truly believe dis allowes us that little blessing were so badly wanting, I promise, relax and allow yourself time.
(Did you know on average it takes the average couple 1yr to conceive) sending all my fellow beautiful mummies out there much love. Our blessing come along when there good and ready, you will see xxx

Don't give up sometimes it can take up to 6 months to get pregnant and stressing can affect your hormones also I just got mines out on July 21 and I'm starting to try I will keep y'all posted don't give up

I had mine removed 12/9/16 and I just found out I am pregnant. I do not know how far because I never had a period after it was removed. I would say it is possible. Have you had any signs?

I have had it for a year and at first didn't bleed them started bleeding nonstop. They put me on the pill to stop me from bleeding but made me bleed heavier and felt more sick. Can't wait to get it taken out!

You can get pregnant once it is removed. Some women can get pregnant right away and others take a little longer but you wont know ahead of time which one you are. Preferably you should have started your new method PRIOR to getting Nexplanon removed. The Pill is usually started seven days prior to removal so that there is no gap in protection. Now that you have had yours removed, you need to consider yourself "unprotected" and if you start birth control pills, for instance, you will need to use them for seven consecutive days before you are considered "protected" again. Did you work with your Dr at all on your heavy bleeding while on nexplanon? There are medications you can take to stop bleeding. Irregular and heavy bleeding can be common in these methods, especially early on. Some women need meds to bring it back under control-usually an ibuprofen regimen is tried first.
Did your gynecologist not talk to you about other options when you had the nexplanon removed? If you dont want to become pregnant, you need to be using condoms and spermicide until you can get onto another method.

thank you for your response!! now im going to be freaking out wondering if i am pregnant. and actually noone told me about the medicine to make the bleeding stop, because i would have tried that. i got a prescription for the pill but they told me i was protected for 2 weeks after removal, although they really didnt know what they were talking about considering they had to give me a stitch when they took it out!! ... well lets hope im not pregnant!

I had the nexplanon for almost a year when I started my period but it failed to stop for a month. I got it removed and the same day I stopped bleeding. It's been since October 2013 that I haven't had it in, we aren't using protection, but I am still not pregnant. Hope this helps.

I have had my implant for almost 4 months. I got it in September of last year. I have been bleeding nonstop since I have had it in except a few days maybe a week when I tried the pills to make the bleeding stop. It worked for at first then went back to the way it was before. The pills make me so emotional and now it's to the point where I snap at everyone even my fiance for small things because of the extra hormone plus the hormone in the pills. I stopped taking the pills like my doctor advised and it didn't change so tomorrow. I will call and ask to have it removed. Has anyone had this happen or know what to do?

hi, I've had the implant in since 2005, every 3 years I got it re done after 3 times its due to run out 22.02.15, once this is removed, would it take a lot longer for me to catch on due to having been on contraception all these years, and not to mention an abortion in 2005 because I was so young, this is why I kept this contraceptive method for so long. I'm scared I may of ruined my chances.

I got mine taken out after a year and a half. My doctor put me on the pill a week before he took it out. and at the end cycle of the pill (the sugar pills) started i started my period. And i have very irregular periods before the nexplanon.

I had the implant for 3 months, the bleeding was insane. I had it removed the third month i gained 15 lbs. The nurse told me some women complain of spotting but, that was a understatement. Never heard of any pills to stop the bleeding I sure would had tried them.

I had my taken out jan 11 and was pregnant by jan 16.. I now have a 3 month old baby.. I had mine removed due to me and my hausband wanting another child. But we never thought i would happen so fast after having it removed. My doctor told me to 3months to a year is the normal time. I got prego right away.. Which was a good thing for us. But if your not planning on getting pregnant and that wasnt your reason for having it removed i would be carful. I also bleed the wgole time i had it in my arm. 2 years straight with a few days in between. I hated it. Never again. Good luck dear.
