I am currently 5'4 and 206lbs, and rx'ed Phentermine Hcl 37.5 to help with my weight loss. I already take 40 mg of Lasix, so I know I am not carrying any additional water weight, but I was wondering if it takes a few days to get in my system and begin working? Has anybody experienced this before? I feel like most of the posts all say that they are losing 10 lbs in the first week, is that just water weight or is the phen really kicking in? This is day 3 for me, and I have not lost anything. No rush, just curious, thanks in advance!
How long does Phen take to show results???

I'm surprised you're physician prescribed it to you with you taking the Lasix. Just be careful and eat alot of extra potassium. Usually the first week with Phentermine you do lose quite a bit, and the first 14 pounds is water weight. Stick with it, but it should work from day one.
I took Phentermine back in the early 2000's and lost a lot of weight very quickly. I am 5'4" and started at 150lbs, I lost about 40lbs in 4 months and still felt great. As Phentermine is considered a "quick fix", it's not a good idea to take for an extended period of time. The withdrawal's were horrible, I came down from my high and slept for 3 days! Several years later, I went back to it as I gained almost 100lbs back (the 40lbs I lost and another 50lbs over a period of the next 10 years). I definetely noticed the Phentermine was much less potent than what I took in previous years. I believe they changed the drug due to heart valve problems originally caused by taking Phentermine. I'm not an "MD" but can only give my experience over the last 10 years. My advice is to stop weight loss medication as a quick fix and start eating healthier and add exercise to your week as often as possible.
That will make you feel much better, overall, and will last a lifetime. I'm 54 years old and have tried everything that has been on the market, I've spent thousands of dollars and always ended up heavier then I was before I started the first time around. Since I've taken the healthier option, I feel better and make better choices when grocery shopping. I don't beat myself up when I get on the scales and gain a few pounds, I just accept that and it just makes me more conscious of what I put in my mouth these days. :)
