I was taking Flagyl for a little over a week for a UTI and I have been experiencing the worst anxiety and derealization I have ever felt in my life. I stopped taking it two days ago but I'm still feeling those side effects. Does anyone know how long this is supposed to last?

These same symptoms and more are happening to me currently-I took it for 3 days have been off it for 4 days and I’m still feeling the effects although not constant. How long did it take for you to return to your old self?
Hi, piper!
Flagyl has been known to cause psychiatric symptoms such as you describe in some people but the good news is that you should be feeling back to normal very quickly.
It takes about 48 hours in most cases for the liver to completely metabolize Flagyl (metronidazole) so your symptoms should subside very soon.
If you haven't already, you should report this to your doctor so that it's part of your medical history and to get professional advice especially if your symptoms persist.
