Dry Socket refers to dental work, not a tonsillectomy. However Do not smoke or go to smoky areas after your surgery while your throat is healing. Smoke may cause your throat to start bleeding heavily. I'd say at least 10-14 days, to be safe. Your throat needs to heal completely, and there are several things that can cause bleeding.
