Many people have taken gabapentin with good effect. There is a caution when taking both meds, and that is they could increase CNS depression. It is not a forgone conclusion that it will do this. There isn't a reason to take them at different times, as its the medication in your blood stream that counts, when they hit your stomach doesn't make a difference.
I had a bad negative reaction to Gabapentin. Watch out for any swelling or feeling sick from it. If it doesn't seem to be helping your pain or making it worse. Tell you doctor and stop. I now have that med on my allergy list. What is the Tizanadine fir? I'm pretty sure I've taken it also. I don't know of any meds that you should wait a great deal of time before taking w the Gabapentin but the pharmacist will def know.
Tizanidine is the generic for a muscle relaxer named Zanaflex.
Kiasmama is right, cns depression is a posibility, but I've taken the two together for years with no problems. IF you are not used to either med, take it very very slowly.
Did the same doc prescribe both the Gabapentin and the Tizanidine (or Zanaflex)? Or were they prescribed by two different doctors? IF they were prescribed by the same doc, you can be assured that you are in ok shape to take both. Just go slowly, I must reiterate.
