In my case I took it and it worked in 45 minutes, the only downfall for me is my high tolerance to chemicals so I upped the dose (with my Dr.´s approval) and then it stopped working after 2 months, but at first it was great.
Yes, Betty's right ~ Abilify does work somewhat faster than most psychiatric medications with some people experiencing benefits within the first few weeks. Your Celexa may take a little longer ~ about four weeks and then six to eight weeks to reach peak effectiveness.
You were likely started on a low initial dose of both drugs so don't be surprised if your dosage is adjusted one or more times depending on how you respond. You gradually go up to the most effective dose and are more apt to avoid any pesky side effects that way.
Feel free to post any questions or concerns you may have along the way. All of us here have been down the path you're on and we're happy to share our experiences.
Best wishes, WCV
It's taking me about a week and 1/2 . Some people get quick results and some it can take about 4 weeks or so.. I hope it works for you soon . Best wishes
