Hi Julie,
I,too, developed Achilles’ tendon pain on my 4th day of Cipro. I now list it as an allergy. Very scary! I couldn’t stand suddenly and I remembered the previous time, I didn’t associate it with the Cipro. Allergies tend to get worse on following doses. It’s important to remember these reactions to your doctor for future reference.
I would definitely either report it to your primary because the CDD and all the other 3-letter agencies are keeping track of side effects. Your doc will report it for you.
I’m from the Philly area and if it’s very troublesome, I’d go to University of Pa.Just call their ingfo line and they will direct you to the appropriate department.
I hope you feel better.
Congrats on being a Vaxer.

Thanks. Yes it gets worse each time. The first was my calves and feet. The second my elbows, calves and my groin popped doing a plank exercise! It still bothers me. I stupidly had Cipro after surgery not realizing it was the same thing as Levaquin and every joint in my body locked up and both hamstrings ruptured. It’s been 3 years and my recovery has plateaued. I can do most things but have chronic pain and leg swelling. Now they are saying you can develop aortic aneurysms at any time and that really freaks me out! I’ve been in pain management getting weekly lidocaine injections for years and have had lots of physio. I wish there was something that could purge it from your system. I’m in South Jersey but it’s probably a good idea to call Penn.
Thanks again.
