Any one see the article from Washington University School of Medicine St. Louis where Latida might be increasing the risk of breast cancer? I wonder how many people suffered breast cancer after taking this dangerous med. I know I am one.

I have been Latuda for one year, 20 mg. I now have something funky on my breast MRI. Following up with a breast specialist. I am on Latuda for depression. I have a family history of breast cancer and was never told about any increased breast cancer risk.
Don't get stressed out. I learned through my cancer adventure that strange and funky things are very normal. Get a mammogram and make it routine. Might want to mention the study to your doctors but that is up to you.
I'm so sorry about your situation and I hope you're doing well.
It's an unfortunate fact of life that every drug, vitamin, supplement, and herbal remedy comes with the potential for adverse reactions and side effects, at least for some people. Even simple aspirin can kill.
It all comes down to risk -vs- benefits.
Do your due diligence, do your research, and make the most informed decision you can.
When faced with this situation with this medication I elected to take the risk rather than trying to live with the debilitating depression that substituted for a life. So far so good.
Best wishes to you!
I am glad it works so well for you. If I had known the over 50% increase of a risk of breast cancer I would have said no to taking the pill.
More so because I wasn't warned about the many, many life altering side effects that follow me to this day. I did due diligence, I reviewed every article and pharmaceutical warnings for this med, I worked with my doctor to make sure this didn't have serious side effects or problems with other medication I take. And was told it was a better option because it doesn't cause weight gain
The side effects I suffered were not mentioned back then, its possible they weren't known and it's possible it's was considered auch a low chance of occurrence that it didn't need to be mentioned.
If they had been mentioned, then maybe things could have been different for me. I also know I am not alone in the destruction this medication caused in my life. There are many others.
Just as there are many others like you where it is a miracle medication. I am glad it works so well for so many. But I sure would have liked to know these detrimental side effects before taking the medication.
Clinical studies are time limited because no one can wait for years to see whether there are going to be unexpected adverse reactions to a new and promising drug in a few test subjects. Latuda was on the market for more than 10 years before the Washington University School even questioned the possibility of the increased risk of certain cancers with the use of some antipsychotic medications. It simply couldn't have been known at the time of release or it would never have been approved for the treatment initially of schizophrenia and later unipolar depression.
Nobody knows so people will potentially suffer. :(
Take care of yourself, okay?
