I have been on this medicine for a while now and realized that my sex drive has gone down and when I do try there is a dryness problem? This is not good for my partner. He thinks I’m just not into him anymore. Is it this medicine?
Does Lamictal cause sex drive to lower in women or dryness?

Though your question was posted 3 years ago, I thought I'd answer since it's an important conversation to keep going.
My response below is one that I also left for a thread very similar to this one:

I have a very similar situation going on to "Tiaxcx" who posted a reply 2 years ago. I'm 35 years old, diagnosed with BP II / Bipolar type 2, meaning mostly depression, rarely ever manic. I received this diagnosis only last summer, and so have been on 150mg of Lamictal / lamotrigine for less than a year. I'm also not taking any other medication aside from this.
Personally, I've never had a wild sex drive to begin with. However, I did have one and enjoyed it, whereas now my partner is to the point where he is struggling to want to stay in our relationship, especially because he has a high sex drive.
I wanted to contribute to this thread because my hope is that anyone else who is searching for answers (like myself tonight) can find some solace in reading about experiences others who are in their shoes are having. I more than likely will be reaching out to my psych aprn this week and asking her about trying something different, since it seems so many people are having the same issues as I am.
Hello I am 27 and have been on this medication for nine months now. When I was depressed off medication, I had no sex drive. Since I started taking this medication my sex drive went back to normal. Not only that but I feel happy all the time and less irritable. For me this is the best medication ever! However to each their own and if you are experiencing such side effects by all means get advised by your doctor to possibly switching to a different medication :)
Hi, Nicole!
"LAMICTAL
GENITOURINARY:
Uncommon (0.1% to 1% of users): Libido decreased"
It is very uncommonly reported but I would suggest you talk to your doctor about the Lamictal and any other medications you may be taking. Perhaps your partner could be part of the conversation so he can be more understanding and supportive of you?
Best regards and good luck!
