I am really struggling right now w severe anxiety. I have had bad experiences with ssriSSRI's amping me up so I’m really not looking to go down that avenue right now. I have a great experience with Lamictal and has to stop taking it when I got pregant about 9 or so years ago.
I have had meds work and then backfire and make me feel worse. Do you think I could have developed an allergy or the Lamictal may not work this time around or should I just stop the suffering and give it a chance? I know that there’s help and it could calm this down just so lost and afraid right now.
Hi, Mama! I think your anxiety is doing the talking. If Lamictal worked well for you in the past why wouldn't it work again? You can't want to go on like this so why not give it another chance to end this suffering. Very worst case you'd simply need to stop the medication if you experience any problems ~ which you probably won't. I can't take any antidepressants because they make me manic (I'm Bipolar) but I also have had severe anxiety disorders until I began taking Lamictal (lamotrigine) along with buspirone which is specific for anxiety. Take a leap of faith and give Lamictal another try! Your doctor can give you professional advice. Best regards and I hope you get to feeling better quickly. Wildcat
