That's awesome!! Wildcat is very wise and when someone has walked in your shoes they know where you've been... keep up the good work and stay strong!!
I have been taking both - Klonopin in the daytime and Xanax at night since 2005. I’m still receiving both. However, I have weaned myself off
Weaned myself off of both. After my current RXs have no refills, which I’m pretty sure I only have 1 more for Xanax, I will not get anymore. Like Wildcatvet said, I stopped because I fear those meds will cause Alzheimer’s or Dementia, which are far worse than my acute anxiety! Also like Wildcatvet, after weaned off of all my meds (Cymbalta left to go,almost finished), I have a new prescription for BuSpar.
This is an older question but I'd bet now you couldn't find a doctor worth their license who would prescribe two benzodiazepines. In fact, a large number of them won't even prescribe one because of addiction issues and the now known long term side effects.
I don’t have a answer to that question
I know you don't, but I wish you would.
Don't you get stomach upset?
The recommended maximum number of medicines in the 'tranquilizers' category to be taken concurrently is usually one. Your list includes two medicines belonging to the 'tranquilizers' category:
Xanax (alprazolam)
Klonopin (clonazepam)
Note: The benefits of taking this combination of medicines may outweigh any risks associated with therapeutic duplication. This information does not take the place of talking to your doctor. Always check with your health care provider to determine if any adjustments to your medications are needed.
I was taking Klonopin with Ativan, Ativan with Xanax, and diazepam with Klonopin. When, I took a low scheduled dose of one I had a prn for the other. Especially, when- I weaned down or transitioned from one to another.
I personally, would only take one or the other. I didn’t know then what I know now about benzodiazepines physical dependence and withdraw is pure HELL!
Maybe, try buspar or clonidine for another combination that actually helped me personally.
Take care

I have restless leg too I didn’t mention- I used to take mirapex a long time ago but it affected my school/work. I was too tired.
Topamax is my miracle med-helped with many things.
I hope that you find what is helpful to you.
Be well

Yes. It is from this site. Sorry, I didn’t post the link instead.
I am a HVAC technician (heating, ventilation, and air condition) so Xanax works short term I need something that last thru the day maybe 90 1mg Klonopin 3 daily and 30 1mg Xanax for the RLS and my insomnia once I fall asleep I can get up to use bathroom and fall right back to sleep just can’t get to sleep the 1st time
I am an RN and I don't know any doctor who would prescribe two benzos. I have a hard enough time getting my klonopin from my shrink... and I lost two children!!!
I am prescribed both by the same Psychiatrist. However I am not in the US.
