In relations with sleep deprivation and insomnia what medications can be beneficial to the patient when they are having trouble sleeping and or not sleeping at all.
If the patient is sleep walking should they be taking any tranquillisers as a medication.
How can I support some-one that has similar problems or if their conditions are getting progressively worse quickly, what should I do?

Flurazepam has always been the best, because of its gentle nature and lack of side effects, but has apparently been discontinued by the manufacturer, Mylan, without letting anyone know except pharmacists when they try to order it. The next best, if you can tolerate the side effects (it makes me feel terrible the next day and completely knocked out my hearing, which came back when I switched back to flurazepam) is Restoril. That is what most people took during the flurazepam shortage in 2019, although everyone who communicated here about it hated it. It may be the best you can do.

Best thing to do is ask your health care professional. There's many sleep medications and it depends on your bodies symptoms as to which would be best for you and your situation. Everything from natural remedies to environment to prescriptions or a combination of any or all. First thing is to have a sleep time routine (time to bed, temperature, white noise or soothing music to dead silence. Stick to your personal routine. It might be as simple as reading right before you dose off.
