You can get a kit at your local pharmacy that will put a temporary covering or crown like effect to ensure that nothing else gets in there. By the way, you shouldn't have any antibiotic left over. The way to take them is exactly how prescribed... which is to continue to take it even if feeling better until it is all gone - totally finished.
You don't know that you have an infection there so taking something like that is NOT a good idea unless your doctor has given you a new script with specific dosing instructions.
Get yourself to a dentist or find out where you can go to get help - like a teaching hospital... but don't start pumping yourself with antibiotics. You can gargle and rinse with warm, salt water plus use Advil to help with tooth pain, if you an tolerate it.
Be safe, be well and take good care of yourself because you ARE worth it!!!

I see a lot of people assuming that because they have severe tooth pain or a broken tooth that they have an infection. from my experience its just not that common for that to be the causing factor of the pain
most severe tooth pain is the result of an exposed nerve or exposed pulp. this happens either from tooth decay of from as little as a crack. one thing is certain if its really hurting antibiotics aren't likely to solve your issue and more than likely it is going to get worse. when your really feeling bad pain in a tooth due yourself a favor and make it to the dentist while you still have your sanity because tooth pain can get unbearable really quick
But what if u do not have insurance or money to go to a dentist? Most dental schools charges 75.00 to 150.00 at least here in Dallas Texas. I have found nothing free.
