Metronidazole has been used in children and, in effective doses, has not been shown to cause different side effects or problems in children than it does in adults.
For 2 month old infants the dose will have to be given by injection.
Your doctor or pediatrician will have to decide on the appropriate dose. Dose recommendations are given in the link below.
