While it probably will on a temporary basis, I wouldn't recommend using it for an extended period of time. I have the same kind of problem with my IBS and have taken a medication called Bentyl, or rather it's generic version, Dicyclomine for more than 30 years. It has greatly reduced both the diarrhea and the urgency. It can be taken as needed or on a regular daily schedule. I've found that I do remarkably better using it on a regular daily schedule as I'm not always sure of what will spark off the diarrhea or the urgency. You can only get this by prescription, so you'll need to talk to your primary care doctor. Since I've used this medication, I no longer have to worry about knowing where the bathroom is every single place I go, or missing out on some event because I'm worried about whether or not my stomach will be able to handle it. I truly hope this helps you. Best of luck!
